Daniel E. Ney is a Sculptor born and raised throughout the rolling plains of Kansas. Forming the foundation, his values have provided an essential life compass as he navigated two military deployments throughout his college career. He began his journey as an architect, then as a student in Drawing. Lacking the depth, he gravitated towards sculpture and cast iron, bronze, aluminum and wood. The casting process allows him to explore his personal narrative through the repetition and labor involved in fine art metal casting.
Ney’s portfolio boasts thirteen permanent bronze sculptures prominently displayed in Topeka, Kansas, the state capital, earning him widespread recognition in both news and magazine publications. His work extends beyond public installations, with numerous private commissions and national exhibitions showcasing his artistic vision. His professional acumen is further highlighted by his service as a National Endowment for the Arts grant panelist, as well as his membership in the National Sculpture Society and the United States Veteran Artist Alliance, among others.
Ney holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Kansas State University (2015) and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Mississippi (2023). Currently based in Richmond, Virginia, he leads as the Director of Exhibits at the prestigious Science Museum of Virginia, where he seamlessly blends his creative and strategic expertise to elevate the museum's offerings while continuing to pursue his passion for sculpture and innovative design.
